It works on whatever wifi network you are connected to. I don't believe it will work on say the AT&T or Sprint network. But it suppose to work on whatever wifi network you set it up on. For example in the video my buddy set it up on the wifi network we have here at work. But it is also set up as his one at home.
What I find interesting about it is that I can have the software set up at home in Texas. Travel to Kansas.. take pictures set up the card on my brother's network (in Kansas) and have my pictures uploaded to the photosharing site.. and downloaded to my PC in Texas!!! How?? I don't know!!

That is cool and all - but does require you to be 'tethered' to a network. Then again, it saves you the trouble of connecting your camera which is DARN useful. Now I wish my camera was SD capable. ;)
Ray - It doesn't require you to be connected to a network to take a picture. It is a 2gb card as well. So you can take pictures at the zoo, come home turn on the camera and have the pictures uploaded!
OR imagine this... you are at a hospital with free wifi you COULD connect it to wifi at the hospital and have pictures of your newborn baby uploaded for friends and family! Automatically!
Sam - it does not sync with iPhoto out of the box. But my buddy Todd did write a script that looks for new files in the "eye-fi" directory. If there are any new files in that directory it imports them into iPhoto.

Oh - I got the fact that it would work sans network - it just seems like my initial reaction was "Great, but what if I'm not by a network." But being able to come home and just let the stuff be sucked off (heh) is VERY nice.
